Whale Watching

Since 1994, the fleet at Narooma have been conducting highly successful whale-watching tours off our South East Coast. Pods of up to ten whales are not uncommon and often swim to the charter boats, displaying a measure of curiosity. Since the whale watching began, there has been a success rate of 98% whale spotting.

Narooma has an international reputation as one of the best whale-watching spots in the world. Each pod of whales during their migration remains in the area for up to two weeks, feeding on krill and jellyfish.

 Whale watching tours are offered from the wharf at Narooma from mid Sept to Nov. View Humpbacks, Southern Rights, Blue Whales and Killer Whales migrating back to Antarctica. Packs of up to 10 whales are not uncommon.
